Renal Patients at Penticton Regional Hospital come in for dialysis three times a week and some are cycling up to six hours a week during treatment. In keeping with the spirit of Penticton as a city that encourages people to stay active and fit, especially as the home of the Subaru Ironman Canada triathlon (recently canceled for 2020), a challenge has been issued!
Athletes and would-be athletes are challenged to commit to 8 weeks of doing 4, 6 or 8 hours of either swimming, biking, or walk/running each week. The challenge runs Sunday, July 5 to Sunday, August 30th, 2020. Like those with kidney failure and on dialysis there isn’t the option of missing a week.
